When Pat wanted a better life for Pinkerton, her family’s beloved turtle, Stonebridge answered the call.
What started as a simple pond issue at her business quickly turned into something much more—a trusted partnership and a completely custom-built front yard oasis designed around one very important resident, Pinkerton.
From Leak Repair to Lasting Trust
Pat first connected with Stonebridge over a problem many pond owners face: a leak.
At her store, the existing pond needed attention—not just to stop the water loss, but to improve the overall health and safety of the fish living in it. What could have been a straightforward fix became something more.
Instead of a quick patch, Stonebridge approached the project as an opportunity to rebuild the pond the right way—improving structure and creating a safer, more beautiful environment for the fish.

That experience made an impression.
Because when it came time to build a pond at home for her beloved turtle, Pinkerton, Pat knew exactly who to call.
Meet Pat & Pinkerton
Hear directly from Pat about her experience working with Stonebridge, and why creating the right environment for Pinkerton mattered so much to her:
Designing a Turtle Pond with Purpose
Pinkerton isn’t just any pet—he’s part of the family. And designing a pond for a turtle comes with very specific challenges.
This wasn’t about installing a standard water feature. It was about creating a safe, contained, and naturalistic habitat that would allow Pinkerton to thrive for decades to come without risk.
Stonebridge designed and built a 10’ x 8’ x 3.2’ turtle pond, complete with:
- An intake bay for efficient water circulation and debris management
- An Aquascape Signature Series 6000 BioFalls filtration system for clear, healthy water
- A layout that balances function, safety, and aesthetics
But the real difference was in the custom details.
Built for Safety—Above and Beyond Standard Design
Every element of this pond was intentionally designed around wildlife protection and containment.
To keep Pinkerton safe and exactly where he belongs:
- The rock edges were built extra high, preventing him from wandering out of the pond
- The basin was made deeper than a typical pond, helping deter raccoons and other predators that could threaten both the turtle and koi fish
- The overall design minimizes easy access points for unwanted wildlife
These aren’t standard features—they’re thoughtful, experience-driven decisions that come from understanding both pond ecosystems and animal behavior.
It’s a perfect example of how Stonebridge goes beyond aesthetics to create functional, protective environments.
Here are some of the photos from the build where you can see for yourself how it was constructed:
A Front Yard Retreat for the Whole Family
While safety was the priority, beauty and usability were never compromised.
At Pat’s request, Stonebridge incorporated large, natural sitting rocks around the pond—transforming the space into more than just a habitat. The family now has a favorite gathering spot, where they can sit, unwind, and spend time with Pinkerton in a setting that feels both natural and intentional.
The result is a true front yard retreat—one that welcomes you home and creates a focal point that draws people in.
